Beauty of Vietnam’s landscapes revealed in “Kong: Skull Island”
During the MTV Movie Awards we got a small glimpse into the production of “Kong: Skull Island” with a short vignette that shows behind-the-scene footage and interviews with cast members. His character appears in uniform for several of these shots, so his character might be one exploring this aspect more deeply.
The movie is being produced by Legendary Pictures and is directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts (“The Kings of Summer”).
We’ve finally got a better idea of what will be coming our way when we disembark with Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson on Skull Island. It essentially follows a group of disparate travelers and explorers and soldiers who travel to an undiscovered island in the South Pacific. On board for the film are Samuel L. Jackson, Brie Larson, John Goodman, Tian Jing, Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell, John Ortiz, Shea Whigham, and Toby Kebbell. If so, go rate it in the ComicBook.com Movie Database for a chance to win your very own Armored Batman figure!
The film will take place in the ’70s, while Americans were feeling the aftermath of the Vietnam War, which could add some interesting layers to this story.
Larson plays a character named Weaver, whom she describes as “a photo-journalist, peace activist and her sort of position in this film is that she wants to work with the nature and these creatures rather than fight against them”.
The script of Kong: Skull Island has been co-written by Max Borenstein (Godzilla), Derek Connolly (Jurassic World), John Gatins (Flight), and Dan Gilory (Nightcrawler). It is scheduled to be released on March 10, 2017.
