Beef found in biryani samples, we’re not against Muslims: Anil Vij
Ayog chairman Bhani Ram Mangla told ToI that the directions to the police were issued after an increasing number of complaints that the biryani vendors were serving beef.
The authorities had received complaints that that shopkeepers and vendors in Ferozpur Jhirka, located in a village in Muslim-dominant Mewat district are adding beef to biryani.
On August 24, the Haryana government issued orders to collect Biryani samples to check alleged beef consumption in Biryani at shops and markets in the area and seven meat samples were collected from food stalls for lab test.
“All seven biryani samples tested positive for beef”.
“It is important to note that the minority population in Haryana is extremely small and is concentrated in the Mewat area”, a CPI-M statement said.
It is amply clear that RSS/BJP actually has no concern for the protection of the cow and its progeny. “This violates constitutional provisions regarding people’s right to work”, he said.
“There had never been a communal clash in Haryana since its inception (in 1966)”.
“The Polit Bureau demands that this obnoxious campaign with government patronage be stopped forthwith”.
“We enacted a law”. Arunachal Pradesh, Kerala, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Lakshadweep have no legislation. Cow slaughter is prohibited in Haryana and violators may attract jail term of upto ten years and a fine upto Rs five lakh.
In December a year ago a migrant worker from Uttar Pradesh was shot dead by “cow protection vigilante” team.
Narrating the horrors, the woman denied eating beef. “We said we don’t, but they insisted we do, and that is why we were being punished”, one of the rape victims told the news channel in Delhi. The Muslim man’s killing led to a massive outrage across the country.
