The Camp Firewood counselors are back to bring a summer of laughs, teen drama and self-discovery to fans everywhere in Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp…even if they are all adults.

“Everyone looks like they’re playing their own parents”, Amy Poehler says.

The cast also spoke fondly of their experience making the original 2001 cult comedy that inspired the Netflix prequel series, and revealed that the film was shot on such a low budget that cast and crew would often sleep in the cabins that were a part of the Camp Firewood set.

The original cast includes players such as Poehler, Cooper, Rudd, Christopher Meloni, Elizabeth Banks and Molly Shannon.

The featurette also gives glimpses of what is involved for new characters like Chris Pine, John Slattery, Jason Schwartzmen, Jordan Peele and Lake Bell. “It’s really cold, we’re moving really fast, and everyone’s having sex with each other”.
