Belgium Raids Paris Attacks
A Belgian official said two of the seven suicide bombers were French men living in Brussels, and among those arrested was another French citizen living in the Belgian capital. And AFP reported that the two men were detained after police raided their homes 130 kilometers (81 miles) east of Paris. Mehdi Nemmouche, a radicalized French citizen who had spent a year in Syria, has been extradited to Belgium, where he awaits trial.
Law enforcement authorities traced suspects in the Paris terror attacks to Molenbeek, where they arrested three people Saturday. “We work very closely with the host association and also with our risk assessors to ensure the security of the teams, the spectators and everyone else who is working on site including media, ITF and national association staff and other workers”. In Belgium, raids were conducted in the Brussels suburb of Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, Justice Ministry spokeswoman Sieghild Lacoere said.
