Belgium seeks two new suspects over Paris attacks
They were identified as Soufiane Kayal and Samir Bouzid and officials said they have used phony Belgian identification documents.
He is suspected of having attempted to go to Syria at least twice in 2015 and is considered to be part of the entourage of Bilal Hadfi, one of the Paris suicide bombers who had been living in Belgium.
Abdeslam was stopped at the Hungary-Austria border in September accompanied by two men with fake IDs bearing the names Soufiane Kayal and Samir Bouzid, Belgian police said.
Abaaoud and a still unidentified third person were also killed in the raid.
“The Federal Prosecutor’s Office and the investigating judge wish to appeal to the public again to look out for two new suspects the investigators are actively searching for”, the prosecutor’s statement said.
Additionally, the false identity of “Soufiane Kayal” was used to rent the house in Auvelais, Belgium, that police searched on November 26, the prosecutor’s office said.
These two people are being sought by the Belgian and French police, according to the prosecutor’s office. Following the attacks, Belgian police carried out a series of anti-terrorist operations.
The men, who were using fake identity cards, are believed to be “armed and dangerous” and police have warned the public not to approach them.
The prosecutor’s office did not elaborate on the objective of the trip or say in which direction they were traveling.
Last month Belgium issued an worldwide arrest warrant for Mohamed Abrini, 30, who was filmed along with Salah Abdeslam at a petrol station in Ressons, France on the motorway to Paris, in a Renault Clio which was later used in the attacks.
On November 13, a series of terrorist attacks in Paris claimed the lives of 130 people.
Authorities have been looking for suspect Salah Abdeslam for almost a month.
Another of those charged, Ali Oulkadi, allegedly drove the key suspect around the Belgian capital.
Meanwhile the AFP news agency cited the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) as saying that several people suspected to have ties to Abdelhamid Abaaoud were based in the United Kingdom.
