Bella Hadid Was Diagnosed with Lyme Disease in 2012
Yolanda Foster, who has been publicly battling Lyme disease, made a shocking revelation Thursday night about two of her children. In one blog post, she talked about how she could not read, write or watch TV because the disease had impaired her ability to process information.
Foster, 51, who has been an advocate for finding a cure for this debilitating disease, said her two youngest; Bella and Anwar Hadid, were diagnosed as well.
She dedicated the award to Bella and Anwar and promised to find a cure for Lyme disease. “No child should suffer in the way that you do”.
I don’t wash my hair every day, which is what keeps it healthy because that way it doesn’t dry out.
“God had different plans for me”, she said, as her three children (including Gigi Hadid) looked on.
Yolanda was given the Power of One award, and her family and friends turned out to show their support.
Lyme disease is most common tick-borne illness in North America and Europe.
The 20-year-old model also choked up on the red carpet, speaking with ET about how – as Foster’s only child without Lyme disease – she is staying strong for her family.
Bravo to these fighters for raising awareness for an important cause! I used to be a pretty cool, smart, multi-tasking, kick*ss mom. Being on the beach all the time gave me my original highlights [Gigi now lives in New York, but is orignally from California] but I get a few balayage highlights on top so when it grows out you can’t tell it’s been coloured’.
According to the NHS, symptoms include muscle pain and tiredness, while those severely affected can struggle with arthritis, meningitis and inflammation of the heart muscle. Approximately 30,000 new cases of the disease are reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention each year.
We had no clue they were going through this! “I think that I have the right to have a say because we all do on social media”.
