Ben Carson Bashes Reporters, Likens Them to ‘Used auto Salesmen’
Carson told the National Press Club luncheon today the media sensationalizes and takes comments out of context.
Ben Carson has been climbing in the polls in the race for the Republican nomination for president, but this week, he’s getting a lot of criticism.
Ben Carson’s recent remarks on fighting mass shooters seemingly contradict his own experience with a gunman.
Carson said earlier this week on a Sirius/XM radio show that he was once held up at gunpoint at a Popeye’s restaurant before telling the gunman to direct his attention to the cashier.
“He needs to just help the people and just shut up”, said Gayle Brent, a Baltimore voter.
“He’s still polling pretty well, but it will be interesting to see if this has an impact on his numbers, because this is prior to anything like this happening”.
“If I had a little kid in kindergarten somewhere I would feel much more comfortable if I knew on that campus there was a police officer or somebody who was trained with a weapon”, he says.
“I think he’s misunderstood”.
His strong support of gun ownership is mentioned in the book, including his linkage of the disarming of German citizens with the killing of 6 million Jews by Adolf Hitler’s Nazi regime.
Carson is already the victim of “Popeye’s truthers” who refuse to believe the neurosurgeon ever stepped foot in a Popeye’s franchise, let alone had a gun pointed against his ribs.
