Ben Carson offers cure for Carson ‘Fever’: $25 T Shirts
Republican presidential hopeful Ben Carson jabbed Tuesday at front-runner Donald Trump’s proposal to deport everybody who’s within the nation illegally, calling the plan impractical. Both are Washington outsiders.
Votes were cast Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the festival, with the top four candidates staying consistent throughout each poll: Ben Carson in the lead, Donald Trump in second, Carly Fiorina in third and Ted Cruz in fourth.
“It’s frustrating but unfortunately it’s expected”, Carson said. In expressing his opposition to the Affordable Care Act, where he first gained notoriety, he compared it to slavery. That’s how he’ll counter Carson on this, I assume – Carson’s willingness to rule out mass deportation preemptively proves he’s weak-willed, which guarantees a failed presidency if he’s elected. He stated he served on the boards of Costco, Kellogg and Vaccinogen, and launched a national non-profit.
“Changing a dark situation into a situation of light for those families, I think that far exceeds anything I’ve ever done in the world of business”, he added.
Most students reported that Carson’s Christian beliefs and conservative stances on social issues were something they admired.
Eleven years later, Bouwsma traveled with Carsonto Detroit to witness his son’s namesake announce that he was running for president. His education was enhanced by a mother who was relentless in her belief that her two boys should read books constantly.
“Everything they’ve predicted from the very beginning has turned out to be false, and that will continue to be the case”, Carson said in an exclusive and wide-ranging interview with The Hill.
NBC Nightly News ran a Tuesday feature on Carson, telling some of his life-story and youthful indiscretions before his religious conversion.
The Republican establishment couldn’t have been pleased by the latest national Monmouth poll.
The largely positive profile of Carson implied the retired surgeon is a figure that naturally resonates with Evangelical voters.
“It’s an executive deal, which means it has no standing with the next administration”, Carson told ABC news anchor Dan Ashley at the Commonwealth Club-hosted event. Carson said that Christian dissent based on faith “is a very basic right“. He said he disagrees with the Supreme Court’s ruling on gay marriage, but he acknowledges it’s now the law of the land, all the while emphasizing the need for conscience protections.
We’ll learn soon enough whether Carson’s support is sustainable, but FiveThirtyEight’s Nate Silver argued this week that Carson “is a little bit different from the “flavor-of-the-month” candidates from 2011″.
Carson has surged in recent polls, buoyed by a sly humor and self-deprecating demeanor that would-be voters say they find refreshing. But as some would say, it’s always the quiet ones you have to watch out for.
