Ben Carson pulls ahead of Donald Trump, recent polls show
What do all the dueling poll numbers show? That level of support would be the first time a Republican has seen double-digit support in the African-American vote since 2004 with George W. Bush. Carson led for “social issues such as abortion and same-sex marriage”, earning 27 percent of the vote with Trump following at 13 percent.
Though Carson is the top Republican candidate for N.C. respondents, he is not the only candidate that respondents would choose over Clinton.
“Frankly, when you talk about energy, he’s got lower energy than Jeb Bush”, Mr. Trumpsaid. Ten percent said they would support Kasich, governor of Ohio, which went up by 1 percentage point. While he remains on top in many opinion surveys, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson has surged past him in others.
Last month, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) articulated what many political analysts have been speculating for months: Donald Trump may be whipping up support that will eventually help Cruz if Trump loses steam.
According to a newly released Quinnipiac University poll, Dr. Ben Carson is neck-and-neck with Donald Trump. Overall, it found Cruz rising to a third-place tie with Sen.
“With the election one year away, Ben Carson has surgically cut away all but one GOP opponent and taken a scalpel to Hillary Clinton’s lead”, he said in a statement. The latest Quinnipiac University survey shows that Trump and Carson are neck-and-neck in the Republican primary, at 24% and 23% respectively. Again Trump by a wide margin at 37 percent.
Sanders leads Trump by nine points, 50 percent to 41 percent (versus Clinton’s eight-point advantage), and he’s ahead of Rubio by five points, 46 percent to 41 percent (versus Clinton’s three-point lead).
“Clinton and Donald Trump tie in Iowa at 44%”. Eight percent said they would back New Jersey Gov. Christie, improving 6 percentage points since September.
But he says “A year is an eternity in presidential campaigns”.
The poll has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points for all registered voters, 4 points for Democratic primary voters and 4.5 points for Republican primary voters.
