Ben Carson ‘should quit 2016 race’ over Islam remarks
“As the campaign season advances, we urge all presidential candidates to avoid innuendo and stereotyping of all sorts, including against people based on their faith, particularly American Muslims and, instead, to confront all forms of prejudice and bigotry”.
That comment infuriated at least two of Carson’s rivals in the 2016 race. Sen. Eleven republican candidates each had twenty five minutes to talk to voters Friday at the Bons Secours Wellness arena in the upstate of South Carolina.

. “Mr. Carson may be a good doctor but he is not ready to lead a great nation”.
“He understands there are tenets of Islam that hates Jews, will kill homosexuals, will kill Muslims, do not advocate the beliefs and value system that made America into the country it is today”.
Ben Carson said Monday he could indeed support a Muslim for president – despite words to the contrary on Sunday – should they pledge fealty to the Constitution. It took us too long to overcome the prejudice against electing a Catholic or an African-American president.
He said Sunday that Islam is not compatible with the Constitution.

In spite of the criticism, Ben Carson is not backing down. Fazili says he thinks this can be risky , because these comments can justify anti-Muslim sentiment across the country, but he says he believes these opinions are representative of a small minority.
“The freedom of religion is a founding principle of our nation”.
“If someone has a Muslim background and they’re willing to reject those tenets and to accept the way of life that we have and clearly will swear to place our Constitution above their religion…”
Carson repeated his charge on CNN on Sunday. Under Islamic Law, homosexuals – men and women alike – must be killed.
In his daily briefing, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said Carson’s viewpoint is “entirely inconsistent with the Constitution”, as well as the First Amendment.
On Meet the Press yesterday, Carson said that he doesn’t believe Muslims should be president because their faith does not align with the Constitution. But until these tenants are fully renounced…I can not advocate any Muslim candidate for President.
“I’ve never had a problem with Muslims”, he told NBC on Monday.
