Benedict Cumberbatch not convinced he’d be considered to play James Bond
“At the moment, we’ve done it. I’m not in discussion with anybody about anything”, Craig told Time Out London.
Daniel Craig spoke to Jonathan Ross in his first sit down interview ahead of the release of Spectre.
British super-spy James Bond has racked up an impressive body count over his 23 movie career.
Page Six reported that Sony executives have told Craig to be quiet about the comments.
According to the New York Post’s Page Six, Sony executives have since told the star to “shut up” and “stop bashing” Bond.
They also cited another Hollywood source as saying: “Craig is pretentious and thinks he’s better than Bond, that it doesn’t give him the creative range he needs”.
When asked by Esquire magazine if he had plans to reprise his role in the next film, he stated, ” At this moment, no. I have a life and I’ve got to get on with it a bit. “I don’t know, it’s one of those things – he’s fun at a party but don’t stay too late”.
“I have no idea [if I’ll be back]”, he told Time Out London.
“These movies don’t get made very often”.
On Q and the gadgets and gimmicks associated with the character, Daniel says of the new film: “I can’t really reveal anything but needless to say we haven’t shied away from [them]… So don’t be s–“, he added. The person also has to step up his game as James Bond is special, “Just make sure you’re great”.Naomie Harris, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw and Rory Kinnear return for SCEPTRE, alongside newcomers to the franchise such as Christoph Waltz, Andrew Scott, Dave Bautista and Bond girls Lea Seydoux, Monica Bellucci and Stephanie Sigman.
Spectre is slated to hit the theaters on October 26 in the United Kingdom, followed by worldwide release on November. Craig’s rep didn’t respond.
