Bengals Adam Jones Says He’ll Apologize If Antonio Brown Sits Out
While being interviewed by Brandon Marshall on Showtime’s “Inside the NFL” on Tuesday, Jones repeated his claim that Brown winked at him as he was leaving the field.
The NFL says that conduct of other players and coaches in the Steelers-Bengals game is being reviewed for potential discipline. I think it’s appropriate.
A recent report casts doubt on Antonio Brown’s availability for the Steelers Divsional Round bout with the Broncos.
Antonio Brown might not play in Sunday’s divisional playoff game against the Denver Broncos, but the Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver still has a sense of humor.
According to Jim Colony of 93.7 The Fan (h/t Colin Dunlap), Steelers guard David DeCastro also said Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict spit on him in the midst of Pittsburgh’s 18-16 victory.
It all depends on the severity of the concussion and Brown’s progress through the protocol process. The hit was one of many dirty plays Burfict has leveled against opponents this season, and finally the National Football League has taken action, announcing that Burfict would be suspended three games. I said what I said after the game.
Jones was penalized after he got into an altercation with Steelers assistant coach Joey Porter, who had come onto the field at the same time Brown was being tended to by medical staff.
Tomin added that running back DeAngelo Williams has an injured right foot and is “on the outside looking in”. “I know he was faking it (the injury)”, an irate Adam Jones said on the “Dan Patrick Show” earlier on Monday.
Tomlin said Roethlisberger has a chance to play.
Burfict leads the league with 14 unnecessary roughness penalties since 2012 and has been fined for incidents in each of the last three seasons. He has a history of playing with injuries and I don’t see how he doesn’t suit up on Sunday. “When I saw it, and saw (Brown’s) hands flail, and I saw his head lean back, the first thing I said was, ‘[the officials] got it right.’ And that’s being honest”.
