Bengals’ Burfict supended for three games in 2016

Saturday’s Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals game was such a display of out of control behavior that it is still the source of topic on Tuesday. He was fined fined $31,000 for hitting a defenseless Green Bay Packers receiver (James Jones) and fined $10,000 for striking a Packers tight end Ryan Taylor in the groin in the same game.

Due to his overall actions in the Wild Card Game and his status as a repeat offender, Burfict was suspended for three games by the National Football League, according to ESPN.com’s Coley Harvey.

The Steelers will update the injury statuses during Tomlin’s press conference on Tuesday and the likelihood that anyone in the NFL’s concussion protocol is cleared this early is pretty slim anyway.

“He can’t have that kind of blow with the guy that’s receiving the pass”, Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said.

Steelers guard Ramon Foster confirmed Vontaze Burfict spit on guard David DeCastro during the game, but said Foster wasn’t the only Bengals player to commit the act.

The NFL decided his penalties over the course of a season merited the suspension, which can be appealed.

While a guest on The Dan Patrick Show on Monday, Jones explained the fallout and his altercation with Porter and went on to claim Brown faked an injury after the hit by Burfict.
