Bengals corner Adam Jones apologizes to Steelers’ Brown
Brown caught 136 passes for 1,834 yards and 10 touchdowns during the regular season and 16 catches for 189 yards and a pair of touchdowns against Denver in week 17.
If the Steelers find a way to beat Denver on the road, the Patriots would host the Steelers in the AFC’s biggest game of the season.
One of Roethlisberger’s biggest challenges may be himself this evening-that is, he will have to fight against his instincts, to play more conservatively, but also more creatively, taking advantage of whatever he is given underneath, and that may mean relying on players like Fitzgerald Toussaint and Jesse James.
The word is that he responded well after Friday’s practice, but is still dealing with the AC joint sprain and torn ligaments in his shoulder.
In a social media post on Friday, Jones said, “AB!”
Foster was asked what the game plan was going be without Brown, who had played in 55 consecutive games, including the playoffs, since the 2012 season. Then, he was an overachieving sixth-round pick from Central Michigan.
Manning throws one too many interceptions en route to yet another one-and-done.
Heading to Denver without him is less than ideal, yet it’s a challenge Wheaton, Martavis Bryant, Darrius Heyward-Bey and Sammie Coates believe they’re ready to embrace.
But, we’ll just have to wait until Sunday to see what version of Ben shows up, because he has surprised us all before when he was injured. He took to Instagram to send out an apology to Steelers receiver Antonio Brown after he suffered a concussion in the Wild Card game. The difference between the two teams is that the Broncos are as healthy as they have been al season, the Steelers on the other hand seem to have a player on the injury report at every position. “So, we know we’ve still got to do our part”. That would be challenging against any defense with a sore-shouldered Ben Roethlisberger, two unproven though promising runners (Fitzgerald Toussaint, Jordan Todman), and no Brown, let alone against the Broncos, the NFL’s best defense overall (283.1), against the pass (199.6) and No. 3 against the run (83.6).
Also, Pittsburgh assistant coaches Mike Munchak and Joey Porter were each fined $10,000 for violations during the game.
Four players and two coaches in the Steelers-Bengals game were fined a total of $83,665.
Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier, who hit Bengals running back Giovani Bernard with the crown of his helmet, was not fined. Running back DeAngelo Williams is listed as out and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was listed as questionable. Cornerback Adam Jones was fined $28,940. Gilberry for unsportsmanlike conduct and Peko for unnecessary roughness.
