Benitez: Bale and Benzema will stay
Real Madrid manager Rafael Benitez appears to have quashed Arsenal’s chances of landing Karim Benzema this summer by insisting that the Frenchman is not for sale, the Daily Express report.
But speaking at press conference ahead of the Audi Cup tournament in Germany featuring Madrid, Spurs, AC Milan and Bayern Munich, Benitez was unequivocal in his belief Benzema would stay.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have again been linked with Gareth Bale as a replacement for PSG-bound Angel Di Maria.
“He will stay with us, I can’t see any reason why he would leave”, he stated.
On Bale, the Spaniard is quoted by Sky Sports as saying: “He is a huge player for us, we will not talk about offers”.
Wenger has said that he is happy with his squad and will only move in the transfer market if an “exceptional” player becomes available before the window closes.
“I speak of my goalkeepers and no other goalkeepers”.
Despite an impressive scoring record while at the Bernabeu, it is believed Real are willing to lt him go, and would look to replace him with one of Alvaro Morata, Fernando Llorente, and Sergio Aguero.
“Unfortunately, during the last three years he was never in good condition”.
“I am really pleased with our keepers”.
