Benjamin Netanyahu hits back over Swedish claim that Israel carrying out
Kerry warned that the two-state solution is becoming less feasible as the standstill between Israelis and Palestinians continues, and also warned of the possible collapse of the moderate Palestinian Authority.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday described recent Swedish criticisms of Israeli security measures against alleged Palestinian attackers as “scandalous comments” following a week of diplomatic rows between the Jewish state as well as a handful of European nations.
US Secretary of State John Kerry arrives to the Palestinian Authority headquarters in the West Bank city of Ramallah for meetings with Palestinian officials on November 24, 2015.
“I am concerned that unless significant efforts are made to change the dynamic – and I mean significant – it will only bring more violence, more heartbreak, and more despair”, Kerry said.

Tzipi Hotovely, Deputy Foreign Minister, said that she is going to have a meeting with Netanyahu who is also a foreign minister of Israel to work out “sharp response” to the Wallstrom’s statement.
Without a two-state solution, Kerry said Israel would be forced into an unsustainable position of perpetual occupation that would be rejected not least by the Palestinians but by most, if not all, of the worldwide community. “But the continued settlement growth raises honest questions about Israel’s long-term intentions and will only make separating from the Palestinians much more hard”, he said.
As part of ongoing efforts to clamp down on what Jerusalem says is ongoing Palestinian incitement against Israel, printed materials and office equipment found at the headquarters were confiscated by IDF and the Civil Administration of the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories Unit.
Meanwhile, Israel seems unable to stem a wave of stabbings and other attacks by Palestinian individuals, now in its third month, that has killed 19 Israelis and left over 100 Palestinians, most said by Israel to be attackers, dead.
According to a report in Swedish newspaper Expressen, Wallstrom was asked by one of the members of parliament, Mathias Sundin, why she doesn’t issue strong condemnations against attacks by Palestinians against Israelis.
She said that one of them was an Israeli soldier, who appeared to have been stabbed, while the other Israeli appeared to have been hit by a auto.
“The only workable solution is not a unitary state, but a demilitarized Palestinian state that recognizes the Jewish state”, Netanyahu said, reiterating his objection to the one-state solution. “That will not happen; we will continue to protect the lives of Israeli citizens”.
