Berahino can leave West Brom at the right price, says Pulis
Spurs could launch a fresh move for Saido Berahino as West Brom have conceded all their players are available at the right price.
And having signed his first professional contract in 2011, the 22-year-old had loan spells at Northampton, Brentford and Peterborough before then-boss Steve Clarke made him West Brom’s main striker for the 2013-14 season.
The Magpies tabled a club-record £18 million bid for Berahino in the summer and sources say that offer is still active. “The chairman will be the one who controls that and the chairman will decide that”, Pulis told reporters on Friday.
Interest is high in Berahino, Newcastle have an official £17million submitted which is still left open by West Brom officials but that hasn’t deterred Leicester City’s Claudio Ranieri who wants to swoop in for the striker, according to the Mirror. “He will control anything that happens with Saido”.
“He came on at Chelsea and did really well”, said Pulis.
“I wouldn’t say he’s back to his best yet but he’s getting fitter”.
James Morrison has been ruled out with the hamstring injury he picked up against Chelsea, while Jonas Olsson will be assessed tomorrow for the same problem.
“We won’t be doing a lot, it’s more about recovery, we play Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday again next week so we need to rest”.
“We know it will be a tough game for us, (Southampton) got a great win on Wednesday night against Watford so that will give their confidence a massive boost”.
