Bernard Sanders spat with DNC over Hillary Clinton data breach stretches on
Two additional employees of Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign have been suspended during an ongoing investigation into a software breach that revealed members of his staff accessed Hillary Clinton’s private voter data, Sanders’ campaign manager Jeff Weaver said Saturday night.
“They are going to people, showing videos of Donald Trump insulting Islam and Muslims in order to recruit more radical extremists”, the Democratic frontrunner said.
The candidates took turns punching Trump, professing outrage at his fearmongering comments on immigrants particularly a call for a ban on Muslims entering the United States.
“I think this is fair to say that starting in January, I will have my not so secret weapon”, she said.
Ms Clinton responded by reminding her rival he had voted in favour of removing Colonel Muammar Gaddafi from power in Libya in 2011. “I was so proud of her tonight, but the proof is in the voting”. Asked about IS recruitment videos, he told ABC: “She just made it up”. “Now what we need to restore confidence in the DNC’s ability to secure data is an independent audit that encompasses the DNC’s record this entire campaign”.
Sen. Bernie Sanders was exasperated by Trump’s statements. So while it’s possible that Trump’s comments are being used in some kind of official recruiting capacity – and that’s definitely something ISIS-watchers are anxious about – the evidence may be limited, and even if a Trump-citing recruitment video exists, Clinton’s campaign seems to be making it clear that she hasn’t seen it.
“He is becoming ISIS’ best recruiter”.
Briggs said the average donation was under US$25, far below the FEC rule that requires a campaign to report who gave the money for donations over $US200.
Former Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley, whose campaign has not gained much traction, said the U.S. “must never surrender our American values to racists, must never surrender them to the fascist pleas of billionaires with big mouths”.
Palmieri said on ABC’s “This Week”, “She didn’t have a particular video in mind, but he is being used in social media”.
Mr O’Malley, who boasts less than 5 per cent of Democrat voters’ support, has struggled to make himself heard over the din of the nomination battle between the centrist Ms Clinton and socialist Mr Sanders.
Sen. Sanders insisted that “the issues that the American people want discussed” included that “we’re the only major country on Earth not guaranteeing health care to all people”.
The Clinton Foundation received millions of dollars of “donations” from foreign governments and business interests while Hillary was secretary of state, responsible for overseeing relations with these very same governments and businesses.
