Bernie Sanders Breaks Down How Democrats Can Fight Back
Bernie Sanders was beaten in the primaries, but he’s still not backing down. “She should have won this election by 10 percentage points”. “That is the German word for taking pleasure in someone else’s misfortune”.
Trump, 70, will be the oldest president elected to office since Ronald Reagan who was 69. “But I’m happy that what I perceived as unfair tactics lost”.
But Clinton’s chief rival for the Democratic nomination was in no mood to question Clinton’s campaign or whether he himself could have fared better in a general election.
His words coming as protesters in Los Angeles shut down the freeway overnight and students at Southern Illinois University put on blackface to celebrate Trump’s win. See, you’re wrong. I’m going to make Mars a progressive planet. And Werlau says his vote for Johnson wasn’t a spoiler, because he “wasn’t going to vote for Hillary in the first place”.
Sanders said he now supports Rep. Keith Ellison, a Democrat from Minnesota, to be the chairman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC). The DNC undermined Mr. Sanders’s bid and favoured Ms. Clinton, leaked emails of its functionaries indicated later.
Asked who was now the de facto head of the Democratic Party, Sanders replied: “I’m not into leaders”.
He said he had not yet phoned Clinton to discuss the race, and acknowledged, “I owe her a call”.
Sanders: I think you ought to think about this.
Sanders ultimately endorsed Clinton, angering many of his followers with what they saw as a betrayal of the stands he took during the campaign. In the primaries, Sanders succeeded in those states, defeating Clinton, and many people are now speculating that he could have maintained that momentum to turn those key states blue on November 8.
Sanders’s appearance coincided with the release of his book, “Our Revolution: A Future to Believe In”.
He worries that they might be saying to themselves, “We have the House, the Senate, we have the White House, we’re gonna have the Supreme Court”. For him, it was about tone.
He said the party’s unwillingness to challenge the financial establishment was one of the reasons that Trump won. Jay Z, Warren Buffet, Beyonce, Bruce Springsteen, Lena Dunham, President Obama, it goes on.
Sanders, however, was not shocked by the final outcome of the election.
“Monday-morning quarterbacking is always easy”, Sanders told USA Today.
Sanders also told the American people that he’s prepared to work with Trump.
“But if his presidency is going to be about discrimination, if it’s going to be about scapegoating immigrants or scapegoating African-Americans or Muslims, we will oppose him vigorously”, Sanders said. How many of them are gonna go to jail?
