Clinton on Tuesday rolled out her proposals to fix problems at the Department of Veterans’ Affairs almost three weeks after she was criticized by McCain, other lawmakers, and veterans groups for suggesting that Republicans had made mismanagement, delays, and poor healthcare at the agency appear “more widespread” than they are in reality. Clinton has an even greater lead among black voters, with 77% support over Sanders’ 12%.
As has been found in other polls, Clinton’s strength here stems partly from positive views of her among black Democratic primary voters.
“I think that’s a misrepresentation of what he said, and I think they know that, ” she said. But held back once he was sharing a stage with them, in part because he knew his appearance would be many Americans’ first introduction to him.
