Bernie Sanders leads Clinton by double digits in New Hampshire
“We have built a tremendous grassroots organization in Iowa fueled by enthusiasm for Hillary Clinton and her record, that is set to compete and win”.
A pregnant Chelsea hit the campaign trail in crucial New Hampshire on Tuesday to drum up support for her mother. Three percent of those polled were undecided, pollsters said, and most voters stated that they’d made up their minds: Only 20 percent said they would consider changing their vote. “If you will stand with me on February 1st, I will stand up for you”.
Clinton hit Sanders for bragging about standing up to special interests, but siding with the National Rifle Association on certain legislation.
“I think that Bernie is speaking to a yearning that is deep and real-and he has credibility on it. And that is the absolute enormous concentration of wealth in a small group of people, with the middle class now able to be shown being left out”. Last week, the campaign sent fundraising emails about the tight polls, including one from Campaign Manager Robby Mook with the subject line “nervous”. During her remarks, it was clear Clinton wasn’t exclusively talking about the prospect of a Republican in the White House – but the possibility of a strong rival for the Democratic nomination. Sanders supports Obama’s recent executive action to expand background checks on certain gun purchases, but he has also argued that rural communities, like those he represents in Vermont, rightfully view gun restrictions more skeptically than many urban residents, including many African-Americans. But when it comes to terrorism, foreign policy and health care, respondents chose Clinton.

But Mr Sanders’s surge has clearly unnerved the Clinton campaign, and she has responded aggressively.

In New Hampshire, unregistered voters may participate in either the Republican or Democratic primary, but registered voters in one party can not vote in the other party’s primary.
On issues in this new poll, Sanders was the favored candidate of 51 percent of respondents on the economy, compared with 39 percent for Clinton. “I worry if we give Republicans Democratic permission to do that, we’ll go back to an era – before we had the Affordable Care Act – that would strip millions and millions and millions of people off their health insurance”.
Say Gov. Sam Brownback (R-Kan.) refused to implement a single-payer system in the Sunflower State. Dan Gross, president of the Brady Campaign, noted that the two candidates diverged on the landmark Brady handgun bill, which imposed a five-day waiting period for gun purchases. “Well, guess what, they aren’t ignoring us now”, said Sanders.
“It’s not a mistake”.
McCaskill said it’s time for Clinton to more sharply show the contrast between the two of them.
Her proposals come after a plan announced Monday to add a 4.0 per cent income-tax surcharge on earners of more than $5 million per year.
On Tuesday, Biden said that was not a criticism of Clinton, a former US secretary of state.
