Bernie Sanders meets Barack Obama at White House
Clinton champions her role in the Obama administration and the president’s achievements as she makes her appeal to voters in Iowa and across the country.
On Wednesday night, an emotional actress Susan Sarandon took the stage at Music Man Square in Mason City to introduce friend and current Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said she’s on board, and U.S. Sen. Speaking with the Daily Mail following the rally, she stated that Sanders was “untainted” and has “managed to consistently be on the right side of every issue, the correct side of every issue that reflects my concerns”.
MSNBC and the New Hampshire Union Leader announced Tuesday that they would host a debate on February 4, but the Democratic National Committee said that it has no plans to sanction the event, meaning that should a candidate attend, they could be excluded by the DNC from future sanctioned debates, reported The Hill. I think what the Iowa campaign ends up being about is one word, and that is turnout.
With decades of political experience under her belt, Hillary Clinton finds herself in a familiar position with less than one week to go until the Iowa caucuses – but she insists this time it is different.
“I’m going on 75!”
Clinton said on Wednesday that she was “anxious” to debate more.
As of this writing, we are told, Sanders says he will agree to the pre-New Hampshire debate if Clinton will agree to three more beyond that.
But the NBC News/Wall Street Journal/Marist poll said her three-point edge is unchanged from a survey it did earlier this month.
“We have always been willing to add additional debates beyond the six that had been scheduled and look forward to starting discussions on scheduling debates in April and May”, said Brian Fallon, Clinton’s spokesman, in an email to reporters. “It wasn’t you know pie in the sky”, said Hillary Clinton.
For Clinton, Miringoff said the data underscored the importance of the Iowa contest next week.
Sen. Bernie Sanders is pushing to hit a record 3 million contributions to his campaign by the weekend, telling potential donors on Thursday, “tomorrow is the last day we can put it to work to win Iowa”.
