Bernie Sanders stands by vote but would ‘revise’ gun bill
“For a start, I would urge those voters, the voters all over this country, to take a look at recent polls in which Bernie Sanders is matched with Republican candidates Trump on down [and] Hillary Clinton is matched with Republican candidates”, he said.
As she said Sunday: “Didn’t work before, won’t work again”.
Clinton is the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination ahead of the election in November 2016.
Although Planned Parenthood doesn’t plan to campaign negatively against Sanders and O’Malley, Richards highlighted Clinton’s long record of supporting women’s health care, from her time at the Children’s Defense Fund to tenure as first lady and a U.S. Senator from NY.
The Sanders campaign is pointing out that Clinton leads Trump by just 1 percent in New Hampshire and 8 percent in Iowa.
Reminded of his previous pro-choice stances, his past friendship with the Clintons and even his seeming openness to some gun control, Trump simply said “I have changed”.
Clinton, who has tried to portray herself as a women’s rights candidate, hit back against Trump on Sunday.
This week, Clinton and her aides suggested Sanders was out-of-step with the Democratic Party on a host of issues. “But I am not going to let him or any of the other Republicans rip away the progress that we have”.
The endorsement by the group’s political arm marks Planned Parenthood’s first time wading into a presidential primary, and it comes as Clinton remains locked in a tight contest with Vermont Sen. “Secretary Clinton and her team are getting nervous and nasty because the so-called inevitable nominee anointed by the establishment eight months ago doesn’t look so inevitable anymore”. Is that essentially what you’re saying is, ‘Hey you want me go go down that road?
“I disagree with Republicans who say that America needs yet another massive tax cut for the very rich. That’s the exact opposite of what we should do”, Clinton said. “I think he has been consistently refusing to say that he would vote to repeal this absolute immunity from any kind of responsibly or liability”.
“We’re doing much better with independents”.
And while Trump also accepted that his opponents can grow and evolve on positions too, apparently that doesn’t mean he won’t call them out on it.
But Trump a “varsity” candidate: Whatever economists may think of Trump, the chairman of the Republican National Committee says the billionaire businessman is a major player.
