Bernie Sanders Warns of the Danger of a Third-Party Vote
Campbell said he was leaning toward supporting Stein, but he, too, had seen polling that suggested Trump might win the presidency. At a rally outside the Democratic convention, the Sanders supporter says she could afford a protest vote because she lives in solidly Democratic Massachusetts. Although surveys indicate they strongly prefer her to Republican Donald Trump, substantial numbers say they’ll vote for a third-party candidate or stay home on Election Day. Virginia U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine – the actual replacement for Clinton if she were elected president and unable to perform the duties at some point in her term – received just 14 percent. Sanders and Warren were slated to make some half-a-dozen stops over the weekend. In the new Quinnipiac poll, a jarring 77 percent of likely voters aged 18 to 34 said Clinton is not honest, while 21 percent said she is.
Devine said today’s young voters are “turned off by party politics” and are less inclined than unusual to support a major party candidate but predicted they’ll eventually move in her direction when they realize that “Hillary is the only game in town”.
More likely-Democratic voters would want the DNC to choose Sanders than all other options combined! Sanders is urging his supporters to get behind Hillary Clinton. “This goes to the root of what Trump’s campaign is about – it’s about bigotry”, he told CNN.
“He – in interviews a few times – has said that his version of Democracy demands that if he ever tells you who to vote for, you should not listen to him”, West said, subscribing to the purest form of Democracy Sanders has pitched: one person, one-vote; no undue influence; no coercion.
“Joe that’s a fair question and I honestly don’t know the answer”, Sanders answered.
Sanders held his first solo campaign event for Clinton since his endorsement of her in July on Labor Day in New Hampshire, where he introduced Senate candidate and New Hampshire Gov. Maggie Hassan.

“I’m not in the name-calling business”.
And he said Clinton has backed policies – from college aid to healthcare -that are key to America’s future. In a response, Duke said he was gratified that Pence had stopped short of a full-on attack.
Critics called Pence’s answer the kind of dog-whistling that has made the Trump campaign tick. “And I just don’t want Trump”.
“I voted for him in the primaries, and yelled at my friends for not voting for him in the primaries”, he said.
“Let me very clear about what the birther movement was”, Sanders told his crowd. Instead, we should be banding together against The Actual Devil, also known as Donald Trump. That is what that effort was. “This is the presidency of the United States”.
Sanders, formerly national press secretary for the Bernie Sanders campaign and now another Clinton surrogate, told me why so numerous kids are over it: “Millennial voters are exhausted of what they’re hearing from Democrats and Republicans”.
“Essentially, it’s my view that the leadership of the Democratic Party and the Republican Party are tied to big-money interests and that neither of these parties will ever represent the people in this country that are demanding the real changes that have to take place”, he said.
