Bersih 4: Participants promise not to enter Dataran Merdeka

Bersih 4.0 rally participants insist on assembling in public areas in solidarity of seeking truth about their basic rights should be aware that their actions are under the scrutiny of law.
Among the objectives of the rally, which is also taking place in Kuching and Kota Kinabalu as well as major cities around the world, are demanding reforms in the election system, governance, freedom to protest, parliamentary democracy and the economy.

Police have cordoned off Dataran Merdeka, which will be the venue of Sunday night’s Independence Day countdown.
“The police have not taken action”.
Previously, Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has banned the use of yellow accompanied with the word Bersih 4 and any other related publications based on the rally.
“We estimate the crowd to be at 25,000 as of 3pm”, he said.
But organisers were undeterred by the Home Ministry’s ban and told supporters to carry on wearing the yellow T-shirt.
