BES 12.2 Arrives with Enhanced Multi-OS Support | N4BB
BlackBerry is rolling out a number of updates for its mobile device management platform, BlackBerry Enterprise Service 12 (BES12). This partnership would assist Google to create better security and device management features for Android 5.0 Lollipop.
The information has been confirmed by sources at Taiwan’s handset supply chain and also mentions that these customized Android smartphone will integrate various BlackBerry OS features, including BES12, BBM and BlackBerry Blend.
BES12 version 12.2 now provides support for Samsung KNOX Workspace and Android for Work, and has integrated these platforms with BlackBerry Secure Connect Plus for secure, behind-the-firewall access to enterprise content without the need for VPN infrastructure. Moving forward, the partnership would assist BES12 and Google Play for Work to function together for better functionality.
To enhance the competitiveness of its hardware products, BlackBerry has expanded the list of its hardware partners to include Compal Electronics and Wistron in addition to the previous partner Foxconn, the sources added.
BlackBerry is also laying down more tracks for connections to iOS devices with support for the Apple Device Enrollment Program (DEP) for iPhones and iPads.
