Best Buy reveals its Black Friday deals and sales start now
The Black Friday traditional holiday kickoff of retailers is being cannibalized by holiday sales that start earlier in the month or those that last far beyond the traditional “doorbuster” of the past.
JLL’s 2015 Holiday Sentiment Report, which includes feedback from largely national or global retailers in JLL-managed shopping centers across the United States, also reveals more than half of those retailers expect an uptick in shopper traffic this year.
In addition to announcing its Black Friday hours, Best Buy on Tuesday offered a peek at the deals it plans to offer that day, such as a Toshiba 55-inch LED TV for $349.99 and $150 off a 27-inch iMac with retina display. After opening on Thanksgiving, Target will stay open throughout the night and remain open into Black Friday. Indeed, Black Friday is expected to be the No. 1 day for sales and busiest day of customer traffic all season, according to ShopperTrak.
There are really two basic reasons, aside from consideration for employees, that retailers would forgo being open on the holiday. Those who prefer to hibernate indoors the day of the big feast don’t have to miss out on the savings, as Target is planning to offer all of its Black Friday deals online beginning “early” Thanksgiving morning.
Target stores will open at 6 p.m., the same as a year ago.
The Sony PlayStation 4 gaming console will also likely to be available for only $299.99 along with free $30 to $50 gift certificate. Now, with this Black Friday deal at Target, they can be picked up for just $35.
Fewer stores are electing to be open to shoppers on Thanksgiving Day this year.
Target isn’t the only one gearing up for a bumper holiday season, with Walmart starting its holiday sales the day after Halloween.
Also, Target is looking beyond Black Friday to pamper buyers. “Working and not shopping”, said Taylor Wise who will be working Black Friday.
The retail giant opted to highlight its mobile workstation, presenting discounted prices for laptops, tablets, and other electronics items.
Sam’s ClubSam’s Club will open at 7 a.m. on Black Friday. Macy’s will also open at 6 pm on Thursday.
