Cyber Monday is the day to cash in on deals from the comfort of your own home or office, which makes for a busy day for retailers like Best Buy in Terre Haute.
Walmart just released its full Cyber Monday deals 2015 ads for online sales.
As many as one in ten of the 40 million items ordered on Black Friday and Cyber Monday could arrive late, according to estimates by supply chain experts LCP Consulting.
Do deals continue after Cyber Monday? A record USD2.98 billion (12% more than in 2014) will be spent online by the end of the day, marking the largest online sales day in history. Over a half of the online shopping is done via a smartphone or tablet, while smartphone shopping has received a whopping 30 percent increase over the past year.
On the corporate side of things, Best Buy had a huge Cyber Monday sale as well. With data from thousands of retailers still flowing in, the company believes Monday’s total online spending will be $2.98 billion.
With Black Friday behind us, shoppers are turning to their computers to bargain hunt.
In a survey from the NRF that was conducted by Prosper Insights & Analytics, more consumers took to the Internet to shop on Thanksgiving and Black Friday weekend than went to an actual store, with more than 103 million people saying they shopped online versus almost 102 million who said they shopped in physical stores.
“You’re able to pick out more for each individual I think”, said Amanda Deckard.
“It’s no longer about one day, but a season of digital deals”, said Matthew Shay, president of retail trade group The National Retail Federation.
In a sign of changing consumer spending, Thanksgiving saw a spike in online sales this year, reaching $1.7 billion, up a whopping 25 percent, Adobe said.
The Cyber Monday lines are packed and moving right now.
But as online shopping grows more popular on Thanksgiving and Black Friday, that’s causing less of a frenzy on Cyber Monday, too. “Most of us are doing online shopping on a regular basis”.
Target.com advertised its Monday deals on sites all over the web, but as the crowds came in its servers couldn’t handle the load. At a Starbucks in Hamilton Township, Jin Wu was shopping online on Target’s website for a microwave oven.
