Best ever GCSE results this year for students at Sperrin College
Councillor Patricia Bradwell, executive councillor for children’s services, said: “It’s looking like another impressive set of results this year”.
Jake Hillian is only 15 but managed to achieve a phenomenal 15 GCSEs, including five A*s, 6 As, 3 Bs and a C.
Students at the Compton School in Summers Lane, Finchley, have a lot to celebrate as 57 gained 5 A* and A grades.
Eighty-seven per cent achieved five A* to C grades including English and maths. Amongst many great performances one of the students of whom we are most proud is Mohammad Habbat.
SCHOOLS in Bolton had plenty to celebrate, posting a rise in their GCSE pass rate or, in some cases, record-breaking results.
Head teacher Edward Conway said: “We are thrilled with the results achieved by our students”.
Sadly, James was on holiday and was unable to join his friends at the school as they collected their results, or pose for any congratulatory photographs.
“Every student has worked incredibly hard and deserves their success, particularly in a national context where top GCSE grades are dropping overall”.
Head teacher Owan ap Dafydd said: “It’s an improvement on previous year and we have increased our percentages, so we are very pleased with that”. Most of the girls have outdone themselves.
“If it wasn’t for the community coming together to petition to keep the school open, and the ongoing support of so many individuals, we would not be in a position to deliver a quality of education that I am genuinely proud of”.
Immanuel College, in Bushey, saw 97 per cent of all students achieve five A* to C grades.
However here in Redditch and surrounding areas St Augustines achieved its best ever results putting it in the top for the county and in the top one per cent nationally.
And teacher at Harton Technology College were proud to announce that the number of students securing GCSES in both maths and English jumped from 61% last year to 66% this year.
Pupils from The Oaks Academy are being praised after achieving improved GCSE results on previous years. “I am so pleased for our students”.
“I thought I would get a B in most subjects”, he said.
Hannah planned to take her A-Levels at Jumeirah College. Sixteen-year-old Tom Hodgson gained four A*s and five As.
“I was not expecting to get A*s and I did better than I had done in my mocks. I am not sure where I am going yet”.
