Best ever results at Wisbech school
STUDENTS in Clacton and Frinton are celebrating outstanding A Level results.
Nearly half of all grades were above a B, equating to an impressive average UCAS candidate points per entry total of 93 – higher than local selective grammar schools on previous year’s results.
“We would like to thank all of our staff for their dedication and hard work and wish all of our students the best of luck in the future”.
About 40 per cent of students received between A* and B grades in all their subjects, with 100 per cent receiving a pass.
“I was really nervous on Wednesday as well because I was hearing about the reduction in overall performance in science and maths but our results are up again this year so we’ve bucked the trend”. Naomi Chapman, Kahina Chillaoui, Grace Davies, Rowan Halkes, Ella Porter, Amy Robinson, Zach Sheppard and Ciaran Trimming all gained at least three A* or A grades.
“We’re delighted for our boys who can now look forward to taking up their hard earned places at the universities they have chosen”.
Students at Branston Community Academy exceeded all expectations this year with an incredible pass rate of 99.6 per cent.
Matt Hesketh director of post 16 learning said: “This year is a personal best for Cowley Sixth Form”.
“Abbeyfield has the commitment to support students achieve what they want in life and we are dedicated to our motto of our sixth form being a place where students “enter to learn, and leave to achieve”.
“For those few, the good news is, our schools and colleges are well equipped to help them achieve their goals”.
High-flying students at Frinton’s Tendring Technology College have picked up outstanding results in their A-Levels – with many going now set to go on to the country’s top universities.
“Record numbers of our students are heading off to the top Russell Group universities, but I am just as proud of those who are heading off to drama school, art college or music conservatoires to pursue their passion”.
