Best Memes of Carlos Condit Robbed by Robbie Lawler
Condit, meanwhile, returned from a lengthy injury absence in May to stop former title challenger Thiago Alves at UFC Fight Night 67. Condit appeared to be in control, but Lawler continued pressure and started to land in the closing minutes.
“I thought I had three rounds in the bag but that happens”, Condit commented after the tough loss. This fight will feature two of the better technical strikers in the UFC, but it will be Larkin catching Tumenov late for a third round TKO win.
This weekend is the first UFC card of 2016, and it is on pay-per-view, with the welterweight title on the line as Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit will square off for UFC gold.
Condit has an analytical mind and doesn’t necessarily do or say things without a goal. Lawler didn’t go unscathed however, as Condit fought back with combos of his own. Lawler has only lost a single bout since returning to the UFC in early 2013, which came to Johny Hendricks by decision at UFC 171.
He’s going to do some soul searching over the next few weeks, even though thousands of fight fans are secretly hoping he goes on and fights again. Arlovski is a former UFC Heavyweight Champion, but he has not held the championship in well over a decade.
There probably is a better one, however.
“I don’t know. I came up short tonight”.
“Tonight was kind of a do-or-die moment for my career, I feel like, and I was all in”. I was all in. Both fighters landed huge strikes and big knockdowns, yet both bounced up and kept fighting into a brutal fifth round in which they struggled to lift their arms for punches or defense. “If I didn’t, like I didn’t, I’d have to see if I can continue”.
Condit’s activity helped him in Round 3 as he continued to pepper Lawler with strikes, but it caused little damage.
Following last night’s UFC 195 event in Las Vegas the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced. He has won his last four fights in the UFC, with his last three bouts going to the fifth round. Condit dominated the fourth round, consistently putting Lawler on the defensive with a combination of knees, kicks and punches. He had a great game plan.
At the same time, it was violent and furious, with Condit constantly attacking with combinations and Lawler charging forward with power in the final round, looking to finish, many believing he needed to in order to retain his title. “And he did it – great fight”.
Should the UFC look to book an immediate rematch?
And that tone was a lovely symphony of violence conducted by two of the most entertaining composers to ever do it.
“[Lawler]’s our Evander Holyfield man, right?”
