Bethesda’s Prey is a Full Reboot, has no Ties to Previous Game
The re-imagined Prey was announced during Bethesda‘s E3 conference this year, and in a new video from Bethesda, the game’s creative director has shared some additional details about the game. Still, it is heartening to see that the IP hasn’t died completely, and is getting a reimagining instead. Would it even be the previously canceled Prey 2? Everyone thought that Arkane’s Prey was the long-cancelled Prey 2 sequel, whereas others thought it was a reboot. “It more like a hybrid game where there’s narratives meeting with action and an RPG layer”. Colantonio went on to talk about what type of game fans can expect Prey to be and one thing is for sure, it’s not horror. The new game takes place on a space station where you pit your wits against aliens and can learn to use their own powers against them as well as scavenging human technology from the labs around you.
Oh, Morgan Yu can both be a male and a female, players can pick what they want to play as in the beginning of the game.
Some gadgets that aren’t meant for combat at first, can still be used when dealing with enemies.
“It’s not horror. The psychological thrill dimension is morphed around the theme of identity”.
He also commented that those who enjoy Arkane’s style of games will also enjoy Prey, whether or not you played the original.
The original Prey was released in 2006, and a sequel was announced in 2011.
There is no timetable yet for release, other than sometime in 2017 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
