Bethesda Shows off Perks in Fallout 4
We are given a view of the poster, much like you can see below. However, you can level the perks as well, augmenting the effect they have, so there are 270 perk ranks in total. Some are also just for fun.
Bethesda Softworks has released a short new video of Fallout 4 introducing the game’s character system.
Howard points out that the levels of perks are balanced with each other, but every ascending rank becomes more focused or exotic.
Bethesda did pass over 15 of the perks, giving us a glimpse at what they do, specifically.
Fallout 4 is set to be launched in less than four months, and the development team working on the experience at Bethesda aims to make sure that gamers will have all the details they need about the title in order to make the most out of it on day one.
An introduction to S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats and Perks. Ranking up the perk requires players to not only have the stat score for that SPECIAL attribute at the right level, but also to have a high enough overall rank.
As seen in the video above, Howard takes viewers through a preliminary showing of how players will interact with the Pip-Boy, with fully-animated graphics now being integrated into the equipment’s screen. Not only that, but by adding ways to increase one’s perk proficiency, Bethesda has created a system that features close to three hundred different options.
Each S.P.E.C.I.A.L has ten perks, which means there are 70 base perks.
In any case, the higher a particular SPECIAL stat is, the more the tree associated with it will unlock. Not to mention, over 100 in-game magazines will grant individual perks, or up the rank of an existing perk. An example being the Grognak comics, seen below, which raise the critical damage of melee attacks. It’s a system that Bethesda hopes will simplify things.
