Beyoncé Almost Fell at the Super Bowl Halftime Show
Eventually, Beyonce, Mars and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin were all singing “Uptown Funk”. There was good reason: “Uptown Funk” crackled with an energy unmatched by any of Coldplay’s material.
Once Martin took to the stage, which doubled as a video screen pulsing with a swirl of colorful flowers and sunbursts, he and the band quickly ran through a few hits, including “Adventure of a Lifetime” while Martin jumped as though equipped with a pogo stick.
Beyonce performed a portion of her new song Formation, which is making waves thanks to its gritty video clip.
Dressed in black leather and gold chains, Mars worked the stage in a frenzy of choreography that could only be matched by one person…
2002 Super Bowl XXXVI – U2 performed a touching tribute during the 2002 Super Bowl halftime show to the victims of 9/11 with songs “Beautiful Day, ‘ ‘MLK” and ‘Where the Streets Have No Name’. Cue the tears and nostalgic emotions while belting out Coldplay’s “Up & Up”. “Let’s go”, sang Martin, closing out the performance with a montage of past Super Bowl halftime performers, some of whom have died.
Once the performance was over, the audience held up signs to spell out the words “Believe in Love” and it was lovely!
Bruno headlined the Super Bowl XLVIII halftime show at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey back in 2014. “It’s full of color and pageantry, and it’s an fantastic sort of spiritual home of music in England”.
“Wherever you are, we’re in this together”, said Martin to camera. Flames erupted behind field goal posts as Queen Bey twerked, strutted and danced with her backup, er, formation.
