Beyoncé isn’t afraid to tell Chris Martin when his songs suck
The Coldplay frontman says that he highly values Queen B’s opinion, especially when it comes to music.
Now, it turns out that Beyoncé also turned them down for similar reasons.
It recently surfaced that David Bowie had also turned down collaborating with Martin in the past, saying, “It’s not one of your best”. “In the sweetest possible way: She told me, ‘I really like you – but this is bad, ‘” he said. After Martin and his band opened the show, Beyonce made a grand entrance, singing and dancing to her new song “Formation“, leading many fans to claim the pop diva had upstaged the British rocker.
After performing the biggest concert of his life and receiving lukewarm reviews thereafter, Coldplay’s Chris Martin is getting candid about another case of negative feedback. “He wouldn’t just put his name to anything. I think it triggers the young boy in me who saw it and was like, ‘Wow – if you wanna do something, just f–ing lift logs!'” he said. “I was like, ‘Why is our band sometimes a punch line?'”
According to NJ Advance Media, Martin is good friends with Beyoncé and her husband, Jay Z, which made the halftime performance a collaborative effort between friends.
The naff song didn’t stop Bey from working with Coldplay on their latest number Hymn For The Weekend.
