Bhansali Always Wants Perfect Fit : ‘Bajirao Mastani’ Casting Director
“Bajirao Mastani”, which released on December 18, has been praised for its impeccable performances by actors Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra.
Mumbai: For his period drama “Bajirao Mastani”, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali wanted no compromise on the actors, scale, look or feel of the project, says its casting director Shruti Mahajan. The Bajirao Mastani movie has shown a great response with morning and noon shows registering higher collections from those of the weekend.
When asked about Dilwale’s box office clash with Bajirao Mastani, Verma emphasized that audiences have the right to choose which film they want to watch and they, as a company, were aware of it. Moreover, its release in China next year will also lift the collection of the movie, the brokerage added.
“With at least 2 weeks of holidays and no new releases ahead, we expect the film to continue growing”, Eros International Media Senior Vice President India Theatrical Nandu Ahuja said. Both the films released on Friday.
On the other hand, in India, Shah Rukh’s Dilwale is getting mixed reactions while Ranveer’s Bajirao Mastani is winning accolades from across the country.
The film is expected to cross the 100 crore marks by Saturday according to trade experts. A Bhansali film which could have got 3,500-4,000 screens and earned Rs.50-55 crore made do with 3,050 screens and earnings of Rs. 46 crore. Wazir is slated to hit the screens on January 8.
