Bieber Urges Fans To Buy NHS Choir Single
At the last count the Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Choir’s A Bridge Over You was just 662 combined sales behind Bieber’s Love Your self.
He wished the NHS Choir good luck, tweeting: “So for 1 week it’s ok not to be #1”.
Now NHS bosses have reached out to Justin’s fans and urged them to cut the singer out of their lives for the next few days to help push the choir to number one.
The NHS Choir could beat Bieber to Christmas number one, but only if people support them and buy the single, which can be downloaded from iTunes, Amazon, Google Play and 7 Digital.
Well, that same race is now underway, and though it’s reportedly the closest one in years, Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself” is maintaining the lead atop the charts.
Speaking on Thursday’s Christmas Eve edition of Good Morning Britain, the 48-year-old host controversially questioned Justin’s motives in kindheartedly supporting the track.
Joe Blunden, NHS communications manager, has put his own support of Bieber on hold until after Christmas.
“My heart says NHS Choir but my head says Justin Bieber”.
“You don’t expect an NHS choir to make the top 40 so to be honest, we’re [already] massively pleased”.
“So for one week it’s OK not to be number one”.
He said that the idea for a Christmas Number One single came about “to celebrate the thousands of NHS staff that go the extra mile every day”.
However no new figures can be let go until the announcement of the end result itself just before 1pm tomorrow on BBC Radio 1.
It will be only the fourth time in history that a No 1 has been announced on Christmas Day itself.
