‘Big Ben’ uncertain for Denver NFL playoff game
The Steelers said Brown is in concussion protocol, meaning they will compare his state of memory to an earlier test when he was healthy before the season started. But you know and I know that when [Sunday] gets here, all of that is going out the window… he’s going to be cleared Friday.
That’s particularly true for Steelers players and coaches, who play in Denver on Sunday. The NFL also stated that they are reviewing the conduct of other players and coaches from the Steelers-Bengals game for potential discipline.
The announcement came just a few hours after coach Marvin Lewis said in his season-ending press conference that he didn’t think Burfict crossed the line this season.
Due to his overall actions in the Wild Card Game and his status as a repeat offender, Burfict was suspended for three games by the National Football League, according to ESPN.com’s Coley Harvey. “But penalties here or there, one play here or there, is the difference in playing another week and not playing at all this time of year”, Kubiak said, “and our guys understand that”. Roethlisberger went back in and drove the Steelers to midfield, where the Bengals had the Steelers stopped before the penalties on Burfict and Jones.
While a guest on The Dan Patrick Show on Monday, Jones explained the fallout and his altercation with Porter and went on to claim Brown faked an injury after the hit by Burfict. “And he plays very, very well within the rules”.
Under the NFL’s collective bargaining agreement, Burfict has three days to appeal the suspension.
That led to several personal foul penalties, including two on Cincinnati that allowed Pittsburgh to kick the game-winning field goal in the dying seconds.
Cincinnati Bengals’ Vontaze Burfict (55) reacts after sacking Pittsburgh Steelers’ Ben Roethlisberger (7) during the second half of an NFL wild-card playoff football game Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016, in Cincinnati.
In my honest opinion, unless Roethlisberger recovers dramatically during the week, I believe that he should not try to take the field.
