Big Book Sale held over for second run
The Friends of the Library Big Book Sale in the Lena Martin Room at the Gadsden Public Library is being extended. All books will be sorted by subject and arranged by category.
The public book sale will be 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. November 6 and 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. November 7. Customers can get $1 off a $5 purchase by buying a new Friends book bag or by bringing in a coupon from the library circulation department or from the members’ newsletter (coupons not accepted during bag sale).
Most titles, including children’s books, cookbooks, romance novels and DVDs, will cost $1. It ended with the popular Half-Price Day on Saturday, and a frenzied, four-hour Bag Day on Sunday that took in more than $7,000. The Friends of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library is a 501(C)3 non-profit group whose mission is to support the activities of the Public Library.
The Friends of the Library donates the proceeds of the sales to the library district through grants for major author events, free concerts, performances during the children’s Summer Reading Program and capital improvements for the library branches.
A drive-through chili lunch fundraiser Trick-or-Treat Takeout will be held from 11am to 1pm on Saturday in front of the library. Tickets are available for purchase – $5.00 per person – at the library by contacting Martha Hendricks.
