Big Sean’s ‘sweet offer’ for Flint’s water crisis
What do you think of Big Sean‘s support for his home state?
The rapper launched the #HealFlintKids fundraising campaign to raise awareness of the drinking-water crisis, which was touched off when the city began getting water from the Flint River instead of Lake Huron in an attempt to save costs.
Big Sean has joined the list of notable names helping out during Flint, Michigan’s water crisis.
“I’m raising money to support the kids of Flint Michigan”, the project’s website reads.
Big Sean follows behind Meek Mill who donated 60,000 bottles of water to Flint residents and challenged other artists to do the same.
“We know the needs of Flint children exposed to lead, particularly those most vulnerable – children ages 0-6 – are ongoing and long-term”, he added on the site.
Every bit of help counts. The Crowdrise campaign was formed earlier today (Jan. 21) and has already raised over $11,000.
He also tweeted about the issue, asking for an explanation of the crisis from Michigan Governor Rick Snyder.
To help encourage participation (the campaign ends April 30), donors who make a pledge of at least $10 (which is tax deductible) will get a chance to a pair of VIP tickets to a Big Sean concert in 2016 (there will be five winners). This is not a natural disaster, this is not a mistake, this is clearly some real dirty work going on! unacceptable! 50 Cent has also taken part in the cause by donating $50,000.
