Bilic confirms Moses’ Fitness For Away Game At Newcastle
West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has breathed a sigh of relief now that some of his injured players are on the brink of a return for the clash away at Newcastle United on Saturday (January 16).
There was better news elsewhere on the injury front for Bilic with Victor Moses, Cheikhou Kouyate and Mauro Zarate all likely to be fit for the trip to St James’ Park.
The England global was replaced after just 15 minutes during the win at AFC Bournemouth and will spend another spell on the sidelines in an injury-plagued career at Upton Park.
However, Carroll’s unlucky run with injuries is set to continue as Bilic revealed that he has sustained hamstring damage and they are waiting for further reports to determine the extent of the injury. “I am expecting a good a hard game in a great stadium but we’re really looking forward to it”.
“Victor Moses started to train with the team the day before Bournemouth, so he’s available”, he said in his pre-match conference on Thursday. If everything goes well he will be back very soon so there is no reason to be negative.
Bilic added: “He missed the game with Bournemouth and he was 50/50”.
The London club, who are unbeaten in their last nine games, had little difficulty in seeing off Newcastle 2-0 in the reverse fixture back in September.
And the Tynesiders, who are a point behind 17th-placed Swansea City, should enter this contest in high spirits having come from 2-0 and 3-2 down to draw 3-3 with Manchester United in midweek.
“Going forward they have many options, they are very unsafe”.
