Bill Belichick Didn’t Have Anything to Say About Chandler Jones During Press
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) – After a year of “Deflategate”, the New England Patriots aren’t about to let Chandler Jones’ still-unexplained trip to the hospital bother them.
A police log from Foxborough police shows a man identified as Jones entered the department for a medical emergency at 7:42 a.m. On Wednesday, citing a source familiar with the situation, the Boston Globe also reported that Jones did not overdose on a drug such as cocaine or heroin.
According to police reports (via the Boston Herald), Jones’ home smelled like burnt marijuana after police went back to the residence to retrieve Jones’ keys for him.
Foscaldo wrote. Jones didn’t have any drugs on him and was cooperative and respectful, the officer said.
“I made a stupid mistake”, Jones said Thursday in front of his locker at Gillette Stadium after the final full practice before Saturday’s AFC divisional playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Audio of the police and fire dispatch in Foxboro have been released and pieced together by Heavy.com. Jones has practiced every day this week and appears on track to play against the Chiefs. I think Chandler was very much the man when he came out and said, “I did something stupid” and apologized.
“I’m just trying to tell you what I believe could be the end result because that’s what happens”, Carter said.
“We’ll find out on Saturday”, the coach told reporters Thursday. “I’m focusing on the Kansas City Chiefs”. “This man suddenly made a “b-line” for our police station’s rear door”.
Belichick opened his Thursday media availability by saying his primary concern was Jones’ health.
Bill Belichick wants you to know how much he cares about Chandler Jones. “We issued a statement on that and I really don’t have anything to add to it”. On Mike & Mike this morning, the Hall of Fame wide receiver said the synthetic marijuana story does not pass “the smell test”. “That might be easier for all of us”.
Kraft said that Jones did not miss a meeting or obligation during the week and “handled this appropriately”.
