“Maybe some of them gave money for that reason [to gain influence], but majority gave it because they liked what we were doing”, he said.
“In other words, more than 95 percent of the reports did not even question the ethics of the Clinton family remaining involved with the Clinton Foundation”.

Bill Clinton, in what aides said was a speech he wrote himself, stressed what CGI – which is part of the foundation and matches funders with causes – has accomplished over the last 15 years. The same poll showed that 57 percent overall and 32 percent of Clinton supporters said they are concerned about potential conflicts of interest between the foundation’s work and her potential presidency.
The timing of the payment from the Fragrance Foundation raises additional concerns about the Clintons’ overlapping personal and charitable interests that have dogged Hillary Clinton’s presidential bid.
However, some of the cuts to the Clinton Foundation are apparently independent of the November election, and simply the result of the broader scandal surrounding the so-called “charity”. “Achieving true distance from the foundation is not only necessary to ensure its effectiveness, it is an ethical imperative for Mrs. Clinton”.
