Bill Clinton Issues Verbal Tirade Against Bernie Sanders
Though the Sanders campaign has distanced itself from the “bros”, Clinton suggested that Sanders supporters made it hard for women to speak freely about his wife’s campaign online.
“I practically fell out of my chair when I saw it”, Bill Clinton said.
Lucky for him, Democratic women stood by their man. A female aide, Betsey Wright, used the phrase “bimbo eruptions” to discredit women who blew the whistle on the Democratic presidential hopeful in 1992.
In Iowa, it was Clinton who delivered withering critiques from behind the podium in early January, while Bill Clinton stuck to softer terrain of vouching for his wife qualifications as president, as well as a spouse and mother. “Anybody who is supporting me that is doing the sexist things … we don’t want them. It’s not done.” She went on to emphasize a sentiment she has expressed a couple of times over the past several decades, saying that there is “a special place in hell for women who don’t help each other!” Bernie Sanders’ positions on health care, his assertion that Hillary Clinton is a part of the establishment during his fiercest attack on the candidate ahead of Tuesday’s pivotal primary.
“What this campaign is about is getting people to think outside the status quo”, Sanders said. “They know my opponent, too, that is absolutely true”.
“I think because life is better, thanks to people like Hillary and me”, she said.
It’s certainly true that Clinton supporters have been subjected to disgusting troll language in social media attacks.
He mocked Sanders’ supporters as having the view that “anybody that doesn’t agree with me is a tool of the establishment” and said that “when you’re making a revolution, you can’t be too careful with the facts”, hitting at one of Sanders’ central campaign themes.
“It sounds great, but hope doesn’t translate to movement”, said Neil Valentino, a 67-year-old Manchester resident who attended Monday’s community college rally. And as a result of that, I want them to give us free ice cream. But it is clear that earning the support of young women in particular is on her mind.
Sanders’ campaign Monday said it’s “disturbing” that Hillary Clinton’s campaign has “become increasingly negative and dishonest” as she “struggles”. Secretary Clinton still looks like the favorite to win the Democratic nomination, but, when she does, she faces a daunting task in winning back the support of the youth.
