Bill Clinton says Hillary in ‘dog fight’ for Iowa caucus win
The Democratic presidential hopefuls will make closing arguments to New Hampshire voters Wednesday during a primetime CNN town hall in Derry – less than one week before votes are cast in the New Hampshire primary.
With huge blocs of voters still not certain about their choice, Republican front-runners traded barbs over who was a true conservative.
Die-hard Clinton supporters say that they appreciate her will to survive.
Clinton emphasized the issue of gun regulations at a rally at Iowa State University in Ames, where she was joined by former Rep, Gabby Giffords, who was severely wounded in a mass shooting in Tucson, Arizona, and her husband, former astronaut Mark Kelly.
On Friday, the Obama administration announced that 22 more emails from her private server would not be released because they had been classified as top secret.

There were echoes of 2008 for Clinton. Though she now lives in NY, she caucused in 2008 and 2012. To their surprise, the Sanders who is seen only though the prism of a Clinton challenge and a populist agenda – the Sanders not easily shoved aside as a socialist – has become broadly popular. Flawed election polls in the United States in 2014 and in Israel and Britain a year ago have put pollsters on notice in 2016. “I don’t want a candidate for president to maybe be indicted”, she said. “I think the younger voters aren’t so willing to have wool pulled over their eyes this time”. Campaigns worked aggressively to set those expectations in their favor (meaning, lower them) for Iowa, next-up New Hampshire and beyond.
The big variable is turnout.
“Ted is a liar”.
“Are you guys ready for a radical idea?” he asked Saturday.
As ads by Cruz supporters charge Trump has only recently discovered conservatism, Cruz himself tried not to respond to his rival’s latest blasts.
Six in 10 Democratic caucus-goers wanted a candidate who would continue Obama’s policies, according to the preliminary entrance polling. Another immigration path is one leading to legal status short of citizenship.
“The desperation kicks in”, Rubio said in response to Cruz.
I think as people learn more about his record, they’ll realize what her really is very calculated Sen. “I understand that. That’s the way they are”. Meaning, Trump is the most polarizing contender. A recent a Reuters/Ipsos poll found that Trump could garner a support base of 87 percent, while Sanders was able to earn a support base of 54 percent. Sanders is at 21 percent, with O’Malley at less than 1 percent.
Anita Kacmarynski, a volunteer from Newton, is trying to get out the word. “She’s under investigation by the FBI”, he said.
Rubio, a favorite of mainstream Republicans, could benefit from a familiar caucus scenario. “They are gravitating toward candidates that are disruptive and promising massive change”.
In many ways, winning the caucus is merely a symbolic matter. “I love that he supports traditional values, his heart is in the right place”. Whichever candidate loses, Trump or Cruz, he will have some explaining to do.
But if a significant number of Trump supporters are flying below the radar – that is, not showing up in databases – it may be that Trump will have to rely on his supporters to activate themselves.
Trump biographer Gwenda Blair sees a way forward for him: declare victory anyway, and move on.
Kelly Barker, a Colfax small business owner, plans to caucus for the first time. Ohio Gov. John Kasich bailed from Iowa earlier, long seeing more promise for his longshot campaign back East.
“When you say she’s in Wall Street’s pocket, that’s the sort of thing that will hurt enthusiasm” among liberals, Backer said.
