Bill Clinton to stump for Hillary Clinton in Memphis
As former President Bill Clinton takes a more prominent role in his wife’s White House bid, he has already been the subject of headlines unrelated directly to the Hillary Clinton campaign. After being roughly 40 points ahead of Senator Bernie Sanders in many New Hampshire primary polls just a few months ago, there is no way that Hillary Clinton will be able to credibly spin this defeat.
“I trust her to follow not only inclusive economics and inclusive social policies, but inclusive politics”, Bill Clinton said of Hillary. But Hillary wasn’t picking out china while she was first lady.
The 42nd president, who until now had been notably restrained in stump speeches for his wife, unleashed some harsh words against her chief rival, Vermont Sen. “Sometimes when I’m on a stage like this, I wish we weren’t married”. “It was Ben Carson”.
“It seems that we-black people-are [Hillary Clinton’s] winning card”, writes Michelle Alexander, Ohio State University law professor and author of “The New Jim Crow”, at The Nation. “I would rather hear what you will do for us, instead of hearing what somebody did for you”. He said the former president’s address likely pushed him more toward Hillary’s camp.
NBC’s Andrea Mitchell made the comment Tuesday evening in a round-table of pundits that she could tell from Bill Clinton’s facial expressions that he was accepting Hillary’s inevitable loss in 2016. “She’s going to lose”.
