Bill Cosby Ordered to Give Deposition in Abuse Lawsuit
Bill Cosby has had yet another bad week for his rape scandal, having been summoned by the Los Angeles Supreme Court for a mandatory deposition on one of the cases against him.
The deposition has been approved by Craig D. Karlan, the Superior Court Judge in the L.A. County.
Huth’s attorney, Gloria Allred, told Reuters that she will likely depose Cosby in Massachusetts, where he lives.
Mr. Cosby has also been ordered to provide a sworn statement in response to Judy’s complaint. According to her account, Cosby invited the girls the following weekend to his tennis club, where they all had drinks together before he led them on to the Playboy Mansion.
Cosby and his representatives have repeatedly denied the allegations. The sexual assault started after Cosby put his hand down her trousers and then “taking her hand in his hand and performing a sex act on himself without her consent”.
However, Allred has said Huth’s is the only one seeking damages for the alleged misconduct itself, citing repressed psychological injuries that she claims were only discovered in the last three years, and therefore are allowed under the statute of limitations.
We will soon all know what Bill Cosby really has to say about the almost 40 women accusing him of sexually assault. The last deposition took place in 2005 which was kept under wraps until now. The comedian lost a host of supporters but maintained quite a few celebrity cohorts until the recent unsealing of court documents which revealed that Cosby admitted to obtaining drugs for sexual predatory intention. Most of the accusations date back to the 60s and 70s. She was lured by the alleged assaulter to the Playboy mansion where he got her drunk and misbehaved with her. She added that she has suffered a lot and is psychologically hurt for which she needs an answer from the man responsible. Now in her 50s, Huth must likewise answer questions from his attorneys on October 15. Cosby has not been charged with a crime.
