The list, released Tuesday, shows Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates repeating as America’s wealthiest person, with a net worth of $75.4 billion. And Larry Page, CEO of Google, moved from number 13 in 2014 to land the 10th spot, with $US 33.3 billion.
The Berkshire Hathaway chief executive has held the position since 2001. But several political influencers made the top 25, including liberal mega donor George Soros, his conservative counterparts the Koch brothers and Sheldon Adelson and also independent former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg.
Forbes estimates that Lorberbaum, the 60-year-old Chattanooga businessman who built the Mohawk Industries into the world’s biggest floorcovering company, is worth $2.2 billion.
