Bill Murray skipped Emmys to attend son Luke’s wedding
Murray, who turned 65 on Monday and was raised in Wilmette, won a supporting actor Emmy for his role in the 2014 HBO miniseries “Olive Kitteridge“. Only he wasn’t there to collect his trophy!
His son Luke Murray got hitched on Sunday night in Philadelphia, and Murray was there, Emmys be damned. A more important figure in the historical fabric of the world made an appearance in the City of Brotherly Love this week, and his name is Bill Murray.
Actress and close friend Kelly Lynch tweeted a picture of Murray at the wedding with the caption, “Another reason I 3 #BillMurray – he wins an #Emmy but is at his son’s wedding #priorities“.
At the ceremony, two of Bill’s brothers, actor Joel Murray and comedian Brian Doyle-Murray, posed for a picture with their nephew Luke, along with Saturday Night Live writer Jim Downey.
“Bill Murray will show up at your cousin’s bris, but god forbid he make it to an awards show”, tweeted Louis Peitzman.
As well as Luke, Bill also has another son, Hunter, with first wife Margaret Kelly, plus another four sons with his second ex-wife, Jennifer Butler. The couple ended their marriage in 2008.
