Bills captain LeSean McCoy kisses Eagles logo, hugs owner Jeffrey Lurie
In a game that was all about Chip Kelly and LeSean McCoy, it was other players who had the biggest impact during the Eagles’ 23-20 win over the Bills. The Eagles have given up 20 touchdowns the last 22 quarters overall, yielding 45 points in losses to Tampa Bay and Detroit while giving up 28 to New England last week, the only win of the three games.
The Bills came into Philadelphia with playoff aspirations but after 60 minutes of undisciplined football, it looks like another playoff-less year in Buffalo after the Eagle’s 23-20 win.
The big story in Buffalo is LeSean McCoy, and the former Eagle will return to his former home for the first since being traded in the offseason.
“We were fortunate”, Kelly said. And then McCoy declined to talk to reporters after the game, simply saying “I got nothing to say to y’all”.
“I feel like over the past couple weeks, I’ve gotten a lot more comfortable out there with what we’re doing”, Bradford said.
“We just got penalty after penalty”, Ryan said. And while he was on the hook for another score Sunday, Chip Kelly seemed happy with his performance. “We never allowed ourselves to get into a rhythm”.
McCoy entered the day with 1,041 total yards and five total touchdowns for Buffalo, while the DeMarco Murray signing has been a disaster for the Eagles. Tyrod Taylor tried to keep the drive alive, but Ed Reynolds intercepted his pass sealing the deal for the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Philadelphia Eagles are coming into Week 15 still alive in the NFC East race and they have a tough test on Sunday night in the Arizona Cardinals.
The Eagles also scored a touchdown on their first possession of the game, a 6-yard drive that saw them convert a couple of third-down situations and finally cash in when running back Darren Sproles scored on a 1-yard run to make it 7-0. “That’s what they want to be, who they want to be”. But consecutive holding penalties against Eagles’ tackle Dennis Kelly had the Eagles looking at a first-and-30. He is the first Bills receiver with 40-yard catches in three straight games since Terrell Owens in 2009. He might not be the player he was two years ago, but the Bills are making good use of him in a varied running offense that has an elusive quarterback besides speed and power on the ground.
